Welcome:
Welcome! I'm Catherine Bowlin, a first-year PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I study primarily 20th and 21st century American literature and ecocriticism. I am interested in Southern literature, women writers, and place studies. I currently teach one section of Intro to College Writing as a Teaching Assistant at UNCG.

In the past, I was a full-time English instructor at Central Georgia Technical College in Milledgeville, GA. I graduated with my Master of Arts degree in English literature from Georgia College in 2016.

My MA thesis focused on a little known character in Flannery O'Connor's first novel Wise Blood. See the "Projects" page for a brief description of my MA and undergraduate theses.

In my MA program at Georgia College, I designed and taught a section of English Composition as a Teaching Assistant. I was also employed as the Graduate Assistant at the Special Collections in the Ina Dillard Russell Library of Georgia College. I have also had editing experience and research experience.

I am very excited to be a student again!
